Frieze Los Angeles is a leading international art fair that was launched in 2019, focusing on contemporary art and celebrating the exceptionally dynamic culture of Los Angeles and its global contributions to the visual arts.

Over the last four decades, image-editing software has radically transformed our visual world. The ease with which images and text can be digitally generated and altered has enabled new forms of creative experimentation, while also sparking philosophical debates about the very nature of representation. Digital Witness: Revolutions in Design, Photography, and Film examines the impact of digital manipulation tools from the 1980s to the present, for the first time assessing simultaneous developments and debates in the fields of photography, graphic design, and visual effects.

An in-depth installation of Andy Warhol features 26 works (11 on view for the first time at The Broad) by the artist, including Mao (1973), 40 Gold Marilyns (1980), and Liz [Early Colored Liz] (1963). Liz [Early Colored Liz] is a celebrated work featuring a silkscreened image of Elizabeth Taylor, who represented both celebrity and beauty as well as tragedy for the artist. An outcome of sustained and ongoing engagement with artists and artwork, the Broad has highlighted expansive presentations in the third floor galleries, featuring Jean-Michel Basquiat, Roy Lichtenstein, and Andy Warhol, along with works by many others.

Desert X is produced by The Desert Biennial, a not-for-profit 501(c)(3) charitable organization founded in California, conceived to produce recurring international contemporary art exhibitions that activate desert locations through site-specific installations by acclaimed international artists. Thirty-seven years ago, Luna Luna landed in Hamburg, Germany: the world’s first art amusement park with rides, games, and attractions by visionary artists like Jean-Michel Basquiat, Keith Haring, Sonia Delaunay, and David Hockney. By a twist of fate, the park’s treasures were sealed in 44 shipping containers and forgotten in Texas—until now. Housed within a 60,000-square-foot warehouse complex, Luna Luna: Forgotten Fantasy unravels the tale of the most fantastical fairground the world has ever known. The immersive experience invites visitors of all ages to feast their eyes on rides and attractions rescued from the original 1987 park while learning how Luna Luna was created, lost, and reborn through story-driven installations.

Feb 28-Mar 3 Established in 2018, Felix is an art fair created with the intention to foster intimate experiences that prioritize conversation, collaboration, and community. One of the highlights of the 2024 edition is a shoppable installation of Dover Street Market by celebrated artist Oscar Tuazon. Conceived by Rei Kawakubo and Adrian Joffe, Dover Street Market is a place for creators from various fields to gather, encounter and collide with each other in a burgeoning atmosphere of beautiful chaos.

The popular Masters of the American West Exhibition and Art Sale returns to the Autry Museum of the American West in Griffith Park. With over 60 extraordinary artists, this prestigious exhibition and sale displays paintings, mixed media, and sculptures by nationally recognized artists working within the Western genre. The fixed-price sale is February 24. Purchases support not only the artists themselves, but the Autry’s diverse cultural and educational offerings and programs, and constitutes one of the museum’s biggest annual fundraisers.
