Feb 20 – 23 The sixth edition of Frieze Los Angeles returns to Santa Monica Airport featuring galleries from around the world, plus an expansive program of ambitious installations, collaborations with nonprofit organizations, and pop-ups from some of Los Angeles’ most beloved restaurants. Frieze Los Angeles is a leading international art fair that was launched in 2019, focusing on contemporary art and celebrating the exceptionally dynamic culture of Los Angeles and its global contributions to the visual arts.

DTLA ArtNight is a cultural gathering and art walk organized monthly on first Thursdays where over 25 galleries debut new exhibitions from their fine arts collections. DTLA ArtNight was launched by Happening In DTLA, and looks to help revitalize Downtown Los Angeles through culture and connection. The opening reception each month is the first Thursday of the month from 6PM – 10PM.

Every month, museums across the city open their doors for free on specific days so everyone can enjoy the rich tapestry of human experience, from ancient artifacts to contemporary masterpieces. Explore the city’s cultural gems and embrace the spirit of art and knowledge. Free on the second Tuesday of each month.

Feb 26 Celebrate LACMA’s current exhibitions and discover the museum after hours while enjoying drinks and music on the plaza! Food will be available for purchase at the LACMA Café and LACMA Marketplace, alongside cash bars.The LACMA store will be open. Explore all the art on view, including new and recently opened exhibitions. This is an all-ages event that is free to attend, but RSVP is required. Paid parking is available in the Pritzker Parking Garage (entrance on 6th Street, east of Fairfax).

Over the last four decades, image-editing software has radically transformed our visual world. The ease with which images and text can be digitally generated and altered has enabled new forms of creative experimentation, while also sparking philosophical debates about the very nature of representation. Digital Witness: Revolutions in Design, Photography, and Film examines the impact of digital manipulation tools from the 1980s to the present, for the first time assessing simultaneous developments and debates in the fields of photography, graphic design, and visual effects.

An in-depth installation of Andy Warhol features 26 works (11 on view for the first time at The Broad) by the artist, including Mao (1973), 40 Gold Marilyns (1980), and Liz [Early Colored Liz] (1963). Liz [Early Colored Liz] is a celebrated work featuring a silkscreened image of Elizabeth Taylor, who represented both celebrity and beauty as well as tragedy for the artist. An outcome of sustained and ongoing engagement with artists and artwork, the Broad has highlighted expansive presentations in the third floor galleries, featuring Jean-Michel Basquiat, Roy Lichtenstein, and Andy Warhol, along with works by many others.

Mar 8 – May 11 Take a cultural road trip and view six installations created by international artists at Desert X. The exhibition reflects on the desert’s deep time evolutions reframing ideas and wilderness, exploring the impact of humanity on the land and the role of emerging technologies in our contemporary society. Desert X is produced by The Desert Biennial, a not-for-profit 501(c)(3) charitable organization founded in California, conceived to produce recurring international contemporary art exhibitions that activate desert locations through site-specific installations by acclaimed international artists.
